Overview
If you enjoy being with children, and possess patience, understanding and a willingness to take responsibility for your actions, this is the course for you. This course will give you the skills and knowledge to design and implement engaging programs for infants, pre-schoolers and school-age children.
The qualification covers workers in children’s services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in early childhood services, in accordance with licensing, accreditation and duty of care requirements.
At this level: Workers have responsibility for supervision of other staff and volunteers In most states it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level for children’s service centre-based care

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised qualification – CHC50908 Diploma in Children’s Services (Early Childhood Education and Care).
Study Mode
1. Classroom attendance – one day per week for 38 weeks, 225 hours practical placement.
2. Flexible Delivery – between 12 & 24 months.
18 units must be selected for this nationally recognised qualification 13 compulsory units 5 elective units

Applicants will be required to wear uniform top and name tag (provided by NIET) and their attire should follow the dress code of the facility on practical placement days. Applicants will also be required to abide by the code of practice of the facility; this will be discussed with applicants upon registration (minimum 3 hour shifts).
Pre-Requisite
All participants must have completed the Certificate III in Children’s Services CHC30708. Participants who have completed CHC30702 will be required to complete an RPL process.
Assessment methods
Consist of written materials, workplace observation, reports and in class demonstration
Course Details
This certificate will provide great opportunities for employment within the Children’s Services sector. With high demand for support on the Peninsula, this qualification is fully accredited and mandatory to work within the Industry.
Participants have one (1) month from completion date of the course to submit their final assessments- after this time re-enrolment is required and an additional cost of $750.00 is payable.
