Description:                    
 
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This course was previously known as Senior First Aid, Workplace Level 2 or Level 2 qualification. This is the advised minimum requirement by Workplace Health & Safety Legislation for the workplace first aider.

Training Method: 
Training is conducted at our training rooms by a qualified First Aid professional 
 
 
Course content: 
 
Legal issues; infection control; DRABCD Action Plan; managing the unconscious casualty; resuscitation; defibrillation information; choking; first aid kits; shock; wounds & bleeding; burns; asthma; anaphylaxis; safety & injury prevention; fractures; sprains, strains & dislocations; head, neck and spinal injury; chest and abdominal injuries; facial injuries; heat & cold induced illness; poisons, bites and stings; diabetes and seizures. 
 
 
Assessment Method: 
 
 
You will be required to submit a written assessment as well as demonstrate skills - On successful completion of the course, you will receive a statement of attainment, which is valid for 3 years. As per the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines the HLTCPR201A Perform CPR unit needs to be completed every 12 months. This unit incorporates the content of units: HLTCPR201A Perform CPR.  HLTFA301B  Apply First Aid
